I grew up on a farm, so animals have always been a big part of my life and I am comfortable around all types of pets.

Dogs, especially, have always been part of my life, and I simply cannot imagine a home without their warmth and companionship. For many years, I had my own much-loved dog, who I sadly lost last year at the age of 15. Caring for him throughout his life, especially as he got older, gave me a deep understanding of dogs’ different needs, routines and personalities.

Although I am not quite ready to have another dog of my own just yet, I would love to spend time with dogs again and help other owners by caring for theirs. I know how important it is to find someone kind, reliable and attentive, and I would always treat your pet with the same care and affection I gave my own.

I also regularly walk dogs for the NWSPCA, which has given me experience with a range of breeds, ages and temperaments. I am patient, responsible and genuinely attentive to each dog’s character, energy level and routine.

I can provide dog walking, home visits, dog sitting in your home and overnight stays. My usual walks are around 30 to 45 minutes, but I am happy to adapt depending on the dog’s age, energy and needs. I am available during the day, in the evenings and at weekends.

If caring for dogs in my home, I aim to keep things calm, safe and comfortable. I make sure dogs have a secure space to relax, fresh water, regular toilet breaks, company and plenty of attention. I adapt the day to the individual dog, whether that means walks and playtime, quiet companionship, cuddles, or simply keeping to their normal routine as closely as possible.

I am comfortable caring for two to three dogs, depending on their size, temperament and needs. If I am looking after more than one dog, I always make sure they are managed carefully, supervised properly and kept in a routine that helps them feel settled and safe.

Safety is always my priority. I make sure dogs are secure in the home, comfortable in their surroundings and always on the lead outside unless the owner has agreed otherwise. I pay close attention to instructions, feeding routines and any behavioural needs, and I am also happy to administer medication if needed, as I did for my own dog in his later years.

While most of my experience is with dogs, I would also be very happy to care for cats.
