I'm a part-time writer originally from the USA who's lived in Ireland for close to four decades now. I live in Drumcondra in central Dublin with my partner and our 16-year-old son. We're all missing our dog of 17 years, Fonzie, who passed away two years ago. These days I spend a lot of time on long walks (10-20kms a day -- it's relaxing!), and walking with a dog would make it even more enjoyable (and sociable) for me. I realize many people just want to make sure their dog gets a circuit round the local park, but I'm also open to helping your dog get some proper adventure with a longer day out and a little picnic someplace scenic, too. If you're needing an overnight sitter, it's my partner Dawn who will be spoiling your dog the most! She absolutely loves 'em and will be thrilled to have dogs as guests in our home. In terms of availability, I write from home and can pick my assignments, so I'm totally flexible. I like to walk as often as I can, often with a backpack, so will be happy to take whatever goodies and supplies will keep your dog happy and comfortable, whatever the weather or season. I can tailor the walks to be as simple or as ambitious/enriching for your dog as you'd like. If your dog's overnighting here, he or she will almost certainly sleep in the living room. I will sleep in the room with the dog, so he or she will have company all night. It would be key for me to ensure your dog isn't left alone in an unfamiliar environment; the few times we ever kenneled Fonzie, I knew he hated the strangeness and loneliness of it. We'd make certain your dog feels right at home, and gets a great night's sleep given all the walking!
