About Impi
Hello! 🐾
We open our home to a small number of family pets for boarding and day care. I generally have just one daycare dog and one boarding dog at a time, and I don't take dogs every day. Keeping things small means I can give each dog lots of attention and really get to know them.
I'm at home with the dogs during the day, so they're never left on their own for long — no more than an hour.
Dogs staying with us become part of normal family life. They enjoy sofa cuddles, garden time, plenty of walks and generally a very relaxed stay.
For dogs who love getting out and about, I also offer my 1-hour Adventure Sniff Safari!
Morning Adventure Walks 🐾
I offer dog walking around Douglas and the surrounding areas.
🌿 1-hour Adventure Sniff Safari
For dogs who love a proper adventure!
I collect your dog from home and take a maximum of three dogs out together for a proper morning adventure. Depending on the day, we might head to a beach, woodland, dog park or another lovely dog-friendly spot. There's plenty of time to sniff, explore and have some fun, with a bit of off-lead time where it's safe and appropriate.
The hour is spent enjoying the adventure, with collection and drop-off either side. Your dog gets home ready for a well-earned afternoon nap!
It's ideal for dogs who are at home during the day and would enjoy a proper adventure rather than just a quick walk around the block. I'm happy to take dogs of all sizes, as long as they're friendly and comfortable around other dogs.
Half-hour walk prices are listed below. If you'd like to enquire about availability for the morning Adventure Sniff Safari, just send me a message. 🥰
Meet Méabh 🐾
Méabh is our cream Golden Retriever, and she's incredibly friendly. She absolutely adores other dogs and is very used to sharing her home with dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds and ages. She really does love them all and is such a good-natured girl.
A little bit about me
I grew up in the Wicklow hills, in an old farmhouse on two acres. We always had lots of animals — several dogs and cats, chickens and ducks, sometimes a rescue pony and, at one point, even a family of rescue peacocks!
I've always been around animals and have loved them for as long as I can remember. I believe pets are part of the family, and any dog staying with us is treated as one of our own, with plenty of love, attention and company.
Our home 🏡
We're a small family home in Douglas, where I live with my husband, our two children, Méabh and our two cats. The cats stay upstairs behind a stairgate, so the dogs have their own space downstairs.
We live in a lovely, quiet estate with plenty of green spaces nearby. We're also lucky to be within around 20 minutes of beaches, forests, a dog park and several large parks. We have a secure back garden, too.
What is a stay like?
Every dog is different, so I don't stick to a rigid routine. If a dog is new or a little nervous, we take things slowly and give them time to settle in. That might mean spending some time at home with a few cuddles and gentle attention, or starting with a short walk around the neighbourhood.
Once they're settled and happy, we usually head out for a longer walk mid-morning — perhaps to the forest, dog park or beach. I go at their pace and adapt our walks to suit the dogs I have with me that day.
Afternoons are generally quieter. The back door can be left open onto our secure garden, with fresh water and plenty of toys available. Some dogs love to play, some prefer a chew, and others are more than happy to curl up on their bed or the sofa for a snooze.
If an overnight dog is comfortable with it, they'll also join me and Méabh for our evening walk.
A few FAQs...
Unneutered male dogs
Unfortunately, I'm unable to take male dogs who aren't neutered.
Vaccinations and treatments
I ask for proof of vaccinations and that dogs are up to date with their usual deworming and flea and tick treatments. It's simply to help keep all the dogs staying with us healthy and comfortable.
Where will my dog sleep?
Dogs can sleep wherever they're happiest downstairs. They're always indoors at night and have free run of the downstairs of our home and our secure back garden. Dogs aren't allowed upstairs.
Handy for Cork Airport ✈️
We're just 15 minutes from Cork Airport, which makes us particularly handy if you're heading away on holiday.
