Hello!! I am Alan, welcome to my Pawshake profile. I am a Mexican journalist residing in Ireland for almost three years now with my dog Xoco. 

I have shared my life with animals since I was ten years old, and caring for them has always been second nature to me (I even thought becoming a veterinarian). Based here in Cork, I offer attentive, dependable pet care focused on keeping your four-legged family members comfortable, stimulated, and thoroughly loved.

My Philosophy on Pet Care

Caring for a pet goes far beyond simply checking off feeding times and bathroom breaks. To me, it is about genuine companionship, intentional play, and nurturing their emotional well-being. Every dog has unique quirks, energy levels, and comfort zones. I take the time to get to know each pet personally, ensuring their routine feels as safe, predictable, and engaging as it does at home.

You can always expect clear communication, prompt replies, and regular photo and video updates so you have complete peace of mind while you are away.

Outdoor Adventures & Safe Transport

I have my own car, which gives us the flexibility to leave the pavement behind and head out for enriching walks in local woods, quiet trails, and green open spaces. Whether your dog thrives on long, curious woodland sniffaris or prefers a slow, peaceful stroll tailored to their own pace, outings are always designed around their specific needs and safety.

Experience & My Companion, Xoco

Over the years, incredible dogs like Meche, Rufus, Cosmo, Dharma, Morgan, Cooper, and Layla have shared their days with me—and they can all attest to the fun, affection, and patience they receive in my care.

My everyday life is centered around Xoco, my resident companion who lives with me in Cork. Sharing a home with Xoco means my living space is thoroughly pet-friendly, calm, and attuned to canine needs. I treat every guest pet with the exact same warmth, vigilance, and respect that I provide to my own companion.

• Dog boarding 
• Doggy day-care 
• House sitting 
• One or two home visit a day 
• Dog walking  
• I can administer medication to pets as long as it is not an injection. 
• I would board 2 dogs at the same time at most. 
• My dog walks are as much as needed and absolutely flexible to whatever the pet needs. If it needs an hour, we can do it, if it is a quick pee, we can do it. Dog walks can be in the city or in the woods.   
• How much time you can spend with pets:  
• While I am taking care of the pets, they wont be left alone for longer than 3 hours during dog boarding, and no longer than 1 hour during daycare. 
• I do work from the office regularly, but whenever possible, I do work from home. I love to stay at home with my dogs. I can supervise guest pets 24/7 if needed.   
• What is your home like?  
• I live with two female roommates and Xoco, Rufus often visits. Both roommates love dogs, sometimes they feed her or walk her if needed.  
• All guest pets are allowed to sleep in my bedroom in a special doggy bed.  
• The apartment I live in has a terrace, not fenced, but pets can jump over.
