A small, calm and caring home environment for dogs

I offer small-scale, home-from-home daycare and boarding in Douglas, with a maximum of 3 guest dogs at any one time.

I deliberately keep numbers low so the dogs staying with us get plenty of attention, supervision and space to relax. It means I can get to know each dog properly and give them the time, attention and space they need to settle in.

My aim is simple: for your dog to feel like they are having a lovely stay in a second home, while you can enjoy your time away knowing they're happy, settled and well cared for.

A little about me ❤️

I've spent over 20 years caring for dogs and other animals. I grew up in the Wicklow countryside in an old farmhouse surrounded by animals, so having dogs and other animals around has always felt completely natural to me.

Over the years I've cared for rescue pets and dogs with very different personalities and behavioural needs, and I've also volunteered with animal welfare.

I really enjoy getting to know each dog's individual personality. Some are confident and sociable, while others need a little more patience, space and reassurance to settle. I like finding out what makes each dog happy and helping them feel at home.

Our home 🏡

We're a dog-loving family with our own golden retriever, Méabh.

Méabh is friendly, playful and always delighted to have a doggy friend staying. Our home tends to suit dogs who are happy around children and other friendly dogs.

We also have two cats, so guest dogs need to be comfortable around cats or able to calmly coexist with them.

We have a fully fenced back garden and dogs staying with us have access to both the garden and the house. They can relax, play, snooze and generally make themselves at home rather than being kept separately from us.

I'm a full-time mum and pet minder, so dogs staying with us are rarely left alone for more than around an hour.

Daycare & boarding 🐕

Because I keep things small, I can carefully consider which dogs stay together so everyone is comfortable.

I keep routines as close as possible to what your dog is used to at home. You're very welcome to bring their own bed, blanket or favourite things to help them settle.

For longer stays, I can also arrange a trial day beforehand so we can make sure your dog enjoys being here and feels comfortable in our home.

Walks, fun & enrichment 🌿

Dogs staying with us get a mixture of walks, garden time, sniffing, play, enrichment and plenty of downtime, depending on what they enjoy and what suits their age and energy levels.

We love making their stays fun too — sniff safaris, enrichment activities, homemade frozen treats, licky plates and the occasional doggy pool day all feature when appropriate!

But I also think learning to relax is important. Dogs don't need to be entertained every minute of the day, and I want them to feel comfortable enough to have a proper snooze and switch off.

A good match matters 🐾

Keeping things small means I can get to know the dogs staying with us and make sure they're a good fit for each other.

I like to know the little things that make your dog your dog — their personality, routine, what they enjoy and anything that helps them settle.

Before a first booking, we'll chat about how they are around other dogs, children and cats, and anything else you'd like me to know.

Before your dog's first stay 🐾

To keep things safe and comfortable for everyone, guest dogs need to be:

• Fully vaccinated and up to date with required vaccinations
• Microchipped
• Up to date with flea and worming treatment
• Comfortable around other dogs
• Comfortable in a family home
• Suitable for a home with children and cats

For boarding, I don't accept dogs who are currently in season, and male dogs must meet my neutering requirements.

A meet & greet is required before the first booking so we can make sure my home is the right fit for your dog.
