Hi, my name is Ellen O’Shea, but everyone calls me Ellie. I’m 19 years old and currently studying Law and Criminology at Maynooth University.

I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by them, and they have always been a huge part of my life. I truly believe dogs bring so much happiness, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them whether that’s going on walks, playing, giving them company, or simply making sure they feel comfortable and cared for.

I have my own dog, Toby, who is a Golden Retriever and my absolute best friend. Caring for Toby has taught me so much about understanding dogs, recognising their individual personalities, and making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved. I understand that every dog is different and that each one has their own routine, preferences, and needs.

I have also looked after many dogs for friends and family while they have been away on holidays. This has given me experience caring for dogs in their own homes, maintaining their usual routines, and ensuring they receive the attention, exercise, and care they are used to.

I’m originally from Kilkenny, but I now live in Dublin while attending college. Because of this, I currently offer care in your own home only, as I understand that many dogs feel happiest and most secure in a familiar environment.

The services I offer include:
House sitting with your dog
Dog walking (with walks tailored to your dog’s needs whether they require a short stroll, a longer adventure, or anything in between)
Home visits for feeding, playtime, company, toilet breaks, and general care

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. In the unlikely event of an emergency, I would remain calm, assess the situation carefully, and take the necessary steps to keep your dog safe. This would include contacting you immediately, following any emergency instructions you have provided, and contacting your chosen vet if required. I understand how worrying it can be leaving your pet with someone else, so I always aim to provide reassurance and clear communication. I am reliable with dogs of all ages and have experience with nervous and rescued dogs .

While your dog is in my care, I’m happy to provide regular updates, including photos and messages every couple of hours (or as often as you would like), so you can feel confident that your dog is happy, comfortable, and being well looked after.

I’m available throughout the summer months with flexible availability. When I return to college, my availability may become slightly more limited, although I won’t know my exact schedule until then. I will always do my best to accommodate your needs and provide reliable care whenever I am available.

I understand that every dog has different needs, so I’m happy to follow your usual routine and give your pet the time, patience, and attention they deserve. My goal is to make sure both you and your dog feel completely comfortable and relaxed while you’re away.
