About Me

Hi, my name is Cara! I'm based in Rochestown, Cork, and I am a genuine animal lover who has decided to turn my lifelong passion for pets into a service I can offer to other owners through Pawshake. For me, this isn't just a job — it's something I truly care about, and I pour that care into every animal I look after.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life — I grew up surrounded by them and have spent years building a real understanding of what pets need to feel happy, safe, and loved. I know that every animal is unique, which is why I always take the time to learn about your pet's individual personality, routine, and preferences before their stay. My goal is to make sure they feel as comfortable and settled as possible, so that both you and your pet can relax!

Over the years I have cared for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, and more, so whatever your pet's species or personality, I'm comfortable and confident in looking after them. I also have specific experience with dog care, including nutrition and health needs, and I'm more than happy to cater for any special requirements your pet may have — whether that's a specific diet, medication, or just a little extra TLC.

My services include dog walking, playtime, and home stays. My walks typically last between 45 minutes to an hour, giving your dog plenty of time to explore, exercise, and enjoy the fresh air. I also have my own transport, making home visits a flexible and convenient option for owners who prefer their pet to stay in their own familiar surroundings. You can also expect regular photo and message updates throughout your pet's time with me, so you always know they are happy and well looked after.

One of the best things about my location is that I'm lucky enough to live close to both the beach and the woods, meaning there are plenty of wonderful spots for long walks and outdoor adventures! Whether your dog loves splashing in the waves or exploring forest trails, there's no shortage of fun to be had.

In the event of any health concerns or emergencies, I will always contact you immediately and, if needed, seek veterinary care as a priority. Your pet's safety and wellbeing is always my number one concern. I also have experience managing multiple pets at once, and I always ensure that each animal receives individual attention, care, and supervision throughout their time with me.

To keep all animals safe and healthy, I do ask that pets are up to date with their vaccinations before coming into my care. This is simply to protect every animal and give everyone peace of mind.

I'm always happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand so you can get to know me, ask any questions, and feel fully confident about who will be looking after your furry friend. Building trust with both pets and their owners is really important to me, and I want you to feel 100% comfortable from the very start.
