About Salome
Hi there,
I moved to Ireland in September to study for my Masters in Global Health at the beautiful Trinity University. Aside from studying, I love playing rugby and being outside, walking along the sea or going for walks, anything that keeps me moving. I started playing at national level at the age of 16, which meant being very structured and organised to fit school, training, work and friends all under one roof.
Having always had a dog with me, I really miss that part of my life here in Ireland. I had a family dog back in Germany that I trained, unfortunately he passed away earlier this year due to old age. When I went to college I started to take care of the dogs of friends and families. I also did occasional work at an animal shelter for dogs that had a difficult history with their owners or were street dogs. Gaining their trust, understanding their behavior on a deeper level and working with them to resocialize them was a challenging and very rewarding experience for me.
I'm looking to help out with dog walking, unfortunately I can't take pets into the place I'm living at the moment. I would prefer a short and free meeting up front where we can determine if I am the right fit for you and your dog. I am looking for either short walks of half an hour or longer walks and runs of an hour or more. I would stick to the routes your dog is familiar with with minor variations. I am very flexible in my schedule as long as I get one or two weeks notice, I would prefer the mornings as I am an early bird but midday and evening are almost as good with the aforementioned weeks notice. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays I have a fixed training so I am only available after 9pm in case of an evening walk. In the case of the wish for home visits, I am well able to water plants or take care of smaller arrands around the house if needed.
I would love to meet you and especially your dog!
Looking forward to hear from you!
