Hi! My name is Helen, and I have a real passion for animals, especially cats and dogs. I would love the opportunity to help care for your pets and make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well looked after while you’re away or busy. I have owned several dogs throughout my life, both large and small breeds, which has given me plenty of experience understanding different personalities, energy levels, and care needs. While I don't currently care for any pets, I would love the opportunity to help care for yours, as it is something I have done in the past and would like to do again.

Over the years, friends, family members, and neighbors have trusted me to look after their pets, including feeding, walking, playing, and providing companionship. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I always treat every pet as if they were my own. I understand how important it is to have someone reliable and caring looking after your pets.

Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone around to keep them company, I am committed to providing attentive, loving, and responsible care to ensure they feel safe, happy, and loved.

As for types of animals, I have been fortunate enough to adopt a rescue dog. His name was Arlo and he was a Belgian Malinois. He was incredibly nervous at first, though with time, attention and lots of care, he opened up and was incredibly playful. If your animal is also a nervous pet, I would be more than happy to spend extra time with them, making sure they feel as safe and happy as possible. I understand it can be scary introducing a new person to a pet, so I will do anything necessary to earn their trust. Shy animals deserve the same love and attention as more outgoing pets. Allowing them to warm to me is of the utmost importance to me, so spending a little extra time with them is no problem.

In an emergency situation, I would contact you first to see what you are comfortable with me doing. If that isn'y possible, of course I would do what ever is necessary to keep your animals safe.

Should your pet need medication, I would administer it as instructed, in the way you instruct me to. However, I find the animals I've owned and taken care of in the past find it easier with a little treat like buttered bread! I have previously administered anti-seizure medication and antibiotics to dogs.

Generally, I am available from 8:30am until 9:30 pm, though this may change depending on details such as transport and work. I generally operate around Dunmore, Ardkeen and Waterford City.

With multiple animals, I feel it is incredibly important to give each pet adequate attention, what ever that means to that specific pet: extra play time, extra cuddles, or a longer walk! With reactive pets, it's important to ensure that they're safe, and the animals around them are too. If I bring them on walks, I'll try to keep to a quiet route and keep access to other animals and people minimal. I'll also make sure your pets are on their lead at all times, to ensure their safety!

Of course updates are important, and I would send you photos and videos as well as messages to tell you how your pets are doing.

I could take up to 3 pets at a time.

Cancellations are completely fine, but please let me know a minimum of 24 hours in advance so I can adjust my schedule accordingly.

Services:

Daily check-ins:

Refilling food and water, playing, and a walk (30 minutes, or as long as you would prefer). I can also pick up after the pet!

I can come twice a day (sometimes more depending on my schedule and your pet's needs.

Walks:

I am happy to walk your pets for as long as you would like. Of course, I would pick up after them and can bring water and toys to keep them safe, happy and active.

My base for walks would generally be 30-45 minutes.
