About Lara
(Living: D4 Ballsbridge, opposite Herbert park)
FULL TIME dog carer- these doggos are my ONLY priority in the day, this is my full time work. (I know most people who use this site have other jobs/ work from home- I do not, your doggo is my priority while in my care).
I provide an absolute premium service. I truly care after these dogs like they are my own, and are treated like a member of our family. This is a vocation for me, and my main objective is ensuring the happiness of your fur baby. While in my care they have access to all the house dog toys, treats and enrichment I can provide. Needless to say they are cuddled, stimulated and treated like little kings and queens as they enjoy a 'fun camp' away from home. I tailor the day based on each individual dogs needs. They are my world and total main priority while they are with me and I cannot stress this enough.
I'm an enourmous dog lover, and currently, my two dogs live in a different country, so- a sad farewell was bestowed and a kind thank you to my mum for talking care of them until I return! So, being new to Dublin.. I'd love to share that enthusiasm and energy with all the doggos I can! I quit my media/ TV job and decided I wanted to LOVE what I do- and that was just simple- dogs, dogs and some more animals!!
I'm very outdoorsy and go on long runs and walks so having a little running/walking buddy would be perfect! Although I have no formal dog training qualifactions, I've always been highly regimented with my companions and do not tolerate bad behaviour so am always keen to bring out their friendlier side with consistancy and of course, treats! I can understand that sometimes training can be difficult, but it doesnt have to be- in fact, it can actually be incredibly fun for both owner and dog!
I've owned and trained 8 beautiful, incredible, dogs in my life, and one cat! And until I have dogs of my own again I have more than enough love and energy for others! I take all forms of cats and dogs, with any special conditions! Don't you worry if they're a little shy or nervous around new people/people in general, those ones just need a little extra lovin'!
I recently moved to Dublin from London and would love to spend my days walking around this gorgeous country with some furry companions by my side! Look forward to meeting you :)
(When you book with me I will send an intake form for your dog- This is where I ask all the relevant questions about your fur baby and their individual needs.)
Walks:
We go to a few different places dependant on the weather! But some include- Sandymount Beach, Herbert Park, Ringsend Park, River Dodder, Howth.. and more..
Services:
I offer a bespoke schedule suited to your furry friends needs.
Pick up and drop off (By myself) is available for solo walks and not included in the time of the walk, so your furry friend will always receive an hour of play.
Solo walks and group walks are available on request (once we know what kind of temperament your dog has)- the walks last 30-60 mins depending on the individual doggie 😊
Solo training walks are also available but they will be training focused not physical exercise focused.
Adventure walks are full on and usually take place in mountainous and green areas around Dublin- They last for THREE hours. (Drop me a line to enquire about these)
I offer boarding in my home- and on special circumstances to stay in your home with your dog! If the dogs stay for the day they will receive two daily walks.
Water and treats included in all of the above, of course.
If you would like to arrange more than one walk a day, this is also possible.
(Dogs not fully toilet trained will be required to pay a soiling charge of €20 a day. If the accident is on a carpet it will cost €30.)
Enrichment & Food:
The doggos are given ample enrichment and playtime. I usually set up 2/3 enrichment brain games a day- more for a breed that needs that extra stimulation. (These games include, treat finding in a wrap, food in ice, Scatter feeding, toy hide and seek, etc)
We love feeding doggos healthy snakcs and often these come in the form of my enrichment pads that are either frozen or room temperature. It will include anything from Fishy sprats (great for coat and heart health) and boiled and then frozen carrots (means it's mushier when they chew on it, so doesn't pose a choking hazard) to Pumpkin Puree mixed with bone broth. If pre-agreed with yourself they also get daily probiotics!
I find dog nutrition exceptionally important and it's safe to say they are not only treated like kings and queens but eat like them too. The better the diet, the longer the life :)
Time with the pets:
One of the biggest issues with owning a dog is not having the time to mentally stimulate them- which often can be just as demanding as walks and exercise.
During the solo walks they receive undivided attention, with toys, treats and positive reinforcement. It’s vital they feel the centre of attention during these solo expeditions.
The group walks never exceed FOUR dogs, and they last 1 hour - 1.5 hours.
My Home:
I live in a gorgeous bungalow cottage with a very decent sized garden. They will have access to the ‘Dog Room’ (a room dedicated to them, with a little sofa and lots of floor space), and the lovely garden. The garden is entirely bricked and fenced off, so very safe.
Owners are to provide whatever food their dog requires at drop off!
Intake form:
My intake form which I will be sending to you has all the relevant questions!
Some key points:
-Puppies under One year old will pay a separate rate (puppy fee) of €100 per day to cover all soiling fees and maintenance of their training regime.
-Two big dogs from the same house will have to pay for two indivudal nightly/daily rates.
