Hi, I’m Áine. I’m 22 and I’m from County Meath!

I’ve been pet sitting for about four years now, mostly while I was in college, and I’ve always really enjoyed it. I actually forgot I had this profile and haven’t used the app in about three years, but I’ve still been pet sitting on and off during that time.

I’ve recently finished my degree and I’m still figuring out what I want to do next, so I’d like to keep pet sitting and make a bit of extra money doing something I genuinely enjoy.

I have two dogs and two cats myself, so I’m well used to animals and all the different personalities that come with them!

Pets are genuinely part of the family to me. I know how strange it can feel leaving them with someone else, so I’d always look after your pets the way I’d want someone to look after mine.

Why I Pet Sit

One of my dogs, Coco, is a rescue and had a rough start before we got him. Having him has taught me a lot about patience and about letting an animal trust you in their own time.

Because of that, I’m very understanding of pets that might be nervous, shy or a bit unsure of new people. I’d never force them to come near me or interact if they weren’t comfortable. If they need a bit of time and space, that’s completely fine with me.

I actually first got into pet sitting after looking after my auntie’s dog, Max, while she was away. I really liked being able to keep him company and make sure he was settled while his family weren’t there, and it grew from there.

What I Can Help With

I offer home visits, dog walking and house sitting.

While you’re away, I’m also happy to do little things like bring in the post, water plants, clean up after your pets and make sure their food and water areas are kept tidy.

If your pet has medication that can be given in their food or water, I’m happy to do that too once you show me exactly what they need.

And of course, I can send you photos, videos and updates. I know I’d want the same if I was away from my own pets!

Walks & House Sitting

Walks would normally be around 30–40 minutes, but I’m happy to work around what your dog is used to. Some dogs need less and some could happily walk all day!

If there’s a nice beach, forest or walking spot nearby, I’m happy to bring them there too.

If I’m house sitting, I’ll be in the house for the majority of the day and generally wouldn’t leave your pets for more than 3–4 hours at a time, unless we’ve spoken about it beforehand.

I’d also prefer to meet you and your pets before the first booking where possible. I think it’s nicer for everyone, and it means your pets have already met me before you go away. You can also show me their normal routine and anything I need to know.

Availability & A Few Things to Know

I’m generally available in the mornings and afternoons, with some evenings depending on where you’re based.

I’m happy to chat about prices depending on how many pets you have, how long you need me for and what you’d like me to do.

I mainly look after dogs and cats. I’m absolutely fine looking after larger dogs in their own home, but I wouldn’t walk a very large or strong dog if I didn’t feel confident that I could safely manage them on the lead.

I don’t offer boarding in my own home either, as Coco isn’t comfortable with unfamiliar dogs.

At the end of the day, I know you’re trusting me with a member of your family, as well as your home in some cases. I’d always do my best to make sure your pets are safe, comfortable and getting plenty of attention while you’re away.
