About Clíodhna
Hello, I am currently a second year college student, I have always worked with animals and been raised around them, from horses to dogs and cats to snakes. I have experience with all types, ages, needs of any animal, I have experience with pets still learning as young puppies or kittens, caring for elderly animals who may need more patience, anxiety, or just general loving and care for animals.
I have volunteered at the DSPCA and have other private rescues. I have experience with dogs of different training levels and needs from puppies to reactive dogs.
Past experiences with families dogs who were both reactive to people as well as other dogs has given me a lot of experience in handling high energy, nervous, or dogs who need more reassurance.
This experience also allows me to understand behaviour and body language to a higher level.
As a general saftey rule I have for all animals on a walk or in their house, I will ensure I have all the correct information, medical needs, temperament, if on a walk I will make sure the dog can or can't be off Lead as well as paying attention to the dogs confidence or likes and dislikes in terms of certain enviorments.
When looking after a pet in their house I will always ensure the house is in good condition and there are no windows or doors unlocked that shouldn't be, and that the pets needs are being met and that they're comfortable before I leave.
Currently I own two dogs, a horse and a cat, which gives me significant knowledge on how animals interact with one another and their individual needs, I have cared for neighbours and family friends animals in the past and have experience caring for all animal types.
Typically on a dog walk, I am open to walking to your dogs needs, wheather they only need a thirty minutes or a 2 hour walk, as of now, my dogs get walked an hour every day and go for a run in the park. I am used to dogs who can both be off lead or those who must stay on lead, as well as walking dogs who may not enjoy meeting other dogs on a walk.
I like to begin and end walks on a calm note to ensure there's no anxiety or too much energy left over.
My own cat is indoor only so I completly understand the importance in understanding if a cat can be let outside, as well as providing proper care, play and company to any cat in my care.
I am happy to send updates to owners as often as they wish however when walking I typically tell them when I have began the walk and then I update again when I've finished the walk and tell them anything that happened on the walk. when pet sitting I will do the same two updates when I arrive and when I'm ready to leave, however I am happy to send as many updates or pictures as needed.
In terms of the very unfortunate circumstances your pet becomes sick or injured, you will be immediately contacted and instructions will be followed.
In terms of summer availability I am free every day at all hours. I will always keep an eye on bookings and cancellation to ensure there is always room for your pet and avoiding double ups.
I hope to meet your pet soon :)
