About Amy
Hi, my name is Amy. With a genuine love for animals, I want to turn that love into a career with animals. I am currently studying animal science in BIFE in Bray and hope to do veterinary nursing in university next year.
I offer dog walking, home visits, petsitting, basic dog training, help with vet visits, giving medications and basic grooming.
I have four guinea pigs of my own and I regularly foster all kinds of animals from dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, tortoises, squirrels, baby birds - seagulls, ducklings.
I have been working and volunteering at the DSPCA since June 2019 until September 2023 when I left to start college. I must have met hundreds of dogs and cats in my time there and part of my job was to help them feel comfortable and gain in confidence. I worked with the vet team since April 2021 which gave me experience with sick and older animals, they have a
special place in my heart.
After working with animals all day at the dspca, since leaving for college I really miss being with them and so I'm looking forward to meeting some lovely animals and going on interesting walks with dogs again.
I regularly look after dogs and cats for family and friends, including retrievers, cavachons, daschunds, poodles, terriers, lurchers, rottweilers, staffys, pitbulls, labradoodles, shih tzus, collies, pomeranians and chihuahuas. I have met animals who love cuddles, to be left alone and in the middle. I will listen to what your pet wants and only do what they're comfortable with. I have looked after dogs and cats in their home, I have visited them during the day or stayed over at their house.
If you choose me to care for your pet, we can chat on phone first, then a meet & greet with you and your pet/s and we can take it from there and work out what is needed for your furry friend. I will ask your daily routine and what your pet’s needs, likes and dislikes are.
I am flexible and I have a car so I can travel for pet/house sitting and collecting dogs for walks. I am studying animal science in BIFE five days a week so I could do morning /lunch time and evening walks/house visits on weekdays as well as weekends.
My aim is to ensure your pet entrusted to me feels safe, loved, and receives the attention they deserve. Walks will be based around exercise, play and informal training. We can discuss specific needs, length and map of the walk whether close to your own home or mine. I will always do my best for your pet; your fur babies will be well taken care of.
Photos and videos of pets on walks and visits can be sent to you. I hope you will consider me to mind your pets. I look forward to meeting you and your pets.
