Ever since I was younger and my dad brought home a small little jack Russell for me and my sister I have always had a love and passion for wanting to work and be around animals. Growing up I just had the jack Russell and a Dutch rabbit but always wanted more so when I finished secondary school I went and did a course of animal science level 5 and worked in a dog groomers for a few weeks and this sparked my interest with animals even more. During covid and even after it was extremely difficult to get any jobs or even work experience in vets or dog groomers but now I am happily working in Irish Blue cross the last year I am loving all the interactions with the cats and dogs. My role in Irish blue cross is an animal care assistant this role has many jobs but everyday is something different and a new experience. My main roles are walking the dogs, making sure they are fed and have water, cleaning up after them and keeping a close eye on them while they are in our care. I have learned so much experience while working here and would love to also be working with animals outside my job.
