My name is Melissa. I'm 24 years old currently living in Cavan town. I have always been an animal lover. I currently have a very energetic goldendoodle called Shirley who's 2 years old.

I studied Equine Science with University of Limerick and I graduated in 2021. Throughout my time in college I covered various modules including equine anatomy & physiology, pharmacology, reproduction and young horse training, just to mention a few. For my placement I worked in Fethard equine hospital. I had high responsibilities there, including preparing drugs for the vets on the night shift, stocking the drugs in surgery, assisting the vets with procedures when needed, scrubbing in for surgeries and also helped vets out on call on the road.

My career after college has mostly involved laboratory work. I have a small farm at home with my dad in Mayo which we enjoy working on at the weekends. We keep sheep. I have good experience lambing ewes in the spring periods. My partner also farms 200 sheep, I'm always giving a hand when needed on the farm!
