About Me

Hi, I’m Emer 👋 I work hybrid Monday to Friday, which means I’m home a good portion of the week to spend time with our dog, Winnie. I live with my partner, and together we share a love of animals. Growing up, I was surrounded by dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and ducks, so caring for animals has always been a part of my life.

I have over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages — from playful puppies to wise seniors. I’m confident supporting dogs with additional needs, including those who require medication. I also have experience with basic training, including lead walking and core obedience commands, helping to build confidence and trust.

When I take in dogs, I make sure I can be home with them — meaning your pet will have 24/7 supervision, attention, and care.

Our Home

We live in a cosy two-bedroom cottage in Donadea, with a secure gated entrance, a large enclosed garden, and a spacious yard. The garden has plenty of shrubs and trees, which Winnie treats as her own personal obstacle course!

We’re lucky to be near some wonderful walking spots — Donadea Forest, the canal Greenway, and Castletown House & Gardens — so your dog will enjoy plenty of fresh air and adventure during their stay.

If your dog stays overnight, they’re welcome to sleep in the kitchen or sitting room, either in their own bed or crate (whatever they’re most comfortable with).

I also mind dogs in their own home and find this is the least disruptive to the dog's routine.

I can provide a pick up and drop of service also if you want to add that option to your booking.

Before any stay, I’ll chat with you about your dog’s personality, routines, and preferences for food, play, walks, and sleep — so I can provide the best possible care tailored to them.

You’re always welcome to check in during their stay. I’m happy to send photo updates so you can see how they’re getting on.

A Few Notes

🐾 For everyone’s safety, all dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and comfortable around another dog (our Winnie).

🐾 I only take one guest dog at a time, so your pet has my full attention and plenty of space.

🐾 A meet & greet can be arranged beforehand so you and your dog feel at ease.
