## A Bit of Extra Space for the Big Guys##

I have always found that every dog deserves a walk that actually fits their personality and their frame. So I am making a bit of extra room for the larger breeds simply because I really enjoy their company. Having lived with my own 100kg+ St Bernard, and a Bernese, I have had plenty of practice with the joys and the little quirks that come with giant companions. I am well used to the heavy handling, the logistics of getting them safely into a car, and I certainly do not mind the slobber.

Through my time working with vets in pet nutrition, I have picked up a lot of practical knowledge about keeping dogs healthy and comfortable. I am not a vet or a breeder, but I have enjoyed learning about the specific needs of bigger dogs. I prioritise joint health and understand that a heavy dog needs a bit of extra consideration when it comes to the path we take. I make a point of choosing softer terrain where possible and keeping a pace that is sustainable for their long term mobility.

While I am very happy to look after smaller and medium dogs too, I know from experience that it can be a bit of a task finding someone who is truly comfortable with a giant breed. I find these big characters enjoyable and it is a pleasure for me to help out with the dogs that others might find a bit daunting.
