Hi! I'm Lija (pronounced Leah), and I'm a genuine animal lover who has always had a soft spot for animals of all shapes, sizes and personalities. To me, every animal is special in their own little way, and I love getting to know their individual personalities. My friends often tell me I have a special bond with animals, and spending time with them has always come naturally to me!

I've grown up around all sorts of lovely pets, including dogs, cats, parrots, hamsters, rabbits and rats. I've even looked after a friend's lizard for a few months! I've always found animals so fascinating, and I love learning about their needs, getting to know their little quirks and making sure they feel safe, happy and loved.

As I have a dog and a cat of my own, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I'm patient, gentle and responsible, and I'd love to help look after your little (or big!) companion when you can't be there yourself.

Pet sitting and home visits

I offer pet sitting in your own home rather than daycare or boarding at my house. I have an older dog who prefers his own space, so I feel it's best to care for your pets in their familiar environment, where they can feel safe and relaxed.

For home visits, I'd follow your pet's usual routine as closely as possible. This could include feeding them according to your instructions, refreshing their water, giving them attention and playtime, letting them out for toilet breaks where possible, and making sure they're comfortable before I leave. I'm happy to discuss the length of each visit depending on your pet's needs.

When pet sitting, I'd prioritise your pet's safety and wellbeing, follow your instructions carefully, and let you know if I noticed anything unusual. I'd discuss supervision and how long your pet can comfortably be left alone with you beforehand, as I know every animal has different needs.

I usually plan for around 20–30 minutes per visit. I can feed your pets, refill their water bowls, clean litter trays when needed, give them some attention and playtime, and check that everything is okay. If your pet needs daily medication, just let me know beforehand so we can discuss their needs and routine.

Dog walking

I love going for walks myself, so I'd be more than happy to take your dog out for some fresh air, exercise and a little adventure! I'd tailor each walk to your dog's age, energy level and individual needs, and we can agree on a suitable length beforehand based on their usual routine. If your dog has favourite walking spots, particular habits or anything I should know, I'd love to hear about them as I'd generally be happy to walk in your local neighbourhood, nearby parks or your dog's usual walking spots, depending on what you're comfortable with and what suits your dog best.

I usually offer 20–30 minute walks, depending on your dog's needs, age and energy level, although I don't mind walking them for longer in needed, especially for the bigger dogs. During the week, I’m available for walks in the late afternoon and evening. On Mondays and weekends, I’m much more flexible with timings and can walk them in the mornings.

My availability

I'm currently in college so I’m available for pet visits and dog walking on Mondays and weekends, as well as weekday afternoons and evenings after college. I’m not usually available for morning visits from Tuesday to Friday, so please keep this in mind when booking!

Above all, I want you to feel comfortable knowing your pet is in caring hands. Whether they're playful and full of energy, shy and a little nervous, or simply love lounging around and having someone nearby, I'll always do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved. I'd treat your pets with the same kindness and affection I give my own, and I'd feel so lucky to get to know them.
