Hi I'm Megan and I'm a final year vet student. I am studying veterinary medicine in UCD. As you probably can guess I have such a passion for caring for and being around animals, especially dogs. I have extensive experience working with and caring for dogs. With my veterinary background I can administer medications if your dog requires any medication. I'm currently working during the summer in a boarding facility for dogs which I love so much. So much so that it never feels like work to me. I absolutely love being around dogs and getting to know their cute personalities. My goal when minding dogs is to ensure they are happy whilst you're away and get loads of love and walks. I love taking dogs on long walks or shorter ones depending on the dogs needs, or even a little trip to the park. There is nothing more rewarding than working with dogs in my unbiased opinion! Seeing them full of excitement before a long walk or before they get a well deserved treat, brings me such joy. I promise that I won't feed too many treats no matter how cute your dog is :) I would be able to house sit only due to the fact I have no garden in my student accommodation! At the minute my schedule is more or less flexible for the summer months. The services I offer is staying overnight in your home so that your dog doesn't have the stress of adapting to a new environment and can be comfortable in their own surroundings. 
I can also pop into your house how ever many times that you would need if you required day time care for your dog, for them to have some fun and keep your loved doggo active and exercised while you're away ! 

I have had a love for animals as long as I can remember and have grown up with pets my whole life, one time with 6 cats and a dog (this was the best time)! This taught me how to understand their behaviour and meet their needs, and now caring for animals comes naturally to me. I enjoy nothing more than spending time with them, getting to know their personalities, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. 
Aside from growing up with animals, I have years of experience taking care of other peoples pets. I have voluntarily worked at the DSPCA to take care of animas in need, and I have previously used Pawshake for 2-3 years when I was studying abroad in the Netherlands, as I missed my pets from Dublin so much. I walked the same dogs weekly, and had other dogs returning again as their owners were so pleased with our time together. Sometimes I took care of dogs for over 1 month continuously, and administered medication as she was elderly. 
You can trust that your pet will be treated with the same care and love as if they were my own. I am familiar with many walking spots around the area and can drive safely to walk your dogs too. I allow them to settle into their environment safely and act accordingly to their behaviour and needs, as each pet is so unique and special ♡ 
I have decided to pick up pawshake again as at the end of 2025, my beloved 17 year old cat and 10 year old beagle passed away. I miss them every day and wish they could be here, but since they can't, I would love to help others take care of their furry babies and give them all the love and time I have to give. I grew up surrounded by pets, which has given me a deep love and understanding of animals of all kinds.I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs, along with 5 years of experience looking after rabbits and other small animals. Over the years, I’ve cared for puppies, small breeds, and medium to large dogs, including boarding them in my home. We are a couple living in a quiet neighbourhood in south county Dublin. No kids. We have a small dog, Nacho and a tortoise named Phillip.
Nacho is a neutered male, 4yrs old. All vaccines up-to-date and fully insured.
We have a big secure back garden (perfect for fetch!) and enjoying the sun (when it shines). We love animals and have always had dogs in our lives as children and adults. 
We both work from home full-time and love the company of any animal. So your dog will have company / supervision all hours of the day.
We love spending time outdoors and live beside the beach and lots of parks and great walking / play areas.
Most days are spent playing fetch, hanging out, walking and having a relaxing evening.
