I’ve loved, cared and studied animals all my life. I came from Barcelona to Ireland in 2012 to study a Zoology degree in UCC. Needless to say, I instantly fell in love with this country. While studying and working, I’ve shared my life with my German Shepherd doggy, my ratties and a few goldfish! I’ve also gained some valuable experience tracking sea turtles in Greece and minding rehabilitated chimpanzees in Fundacio MONA, Spain.
The next step in my career is to study a Masters in Animal Behaviour but, until then, I’ve spare time in which I’d love to get to know your pet’s personality. I’m a full-time minder of all type of pets and can adapt to your schedule and routines with your pet. Can’t wait to hear from you! J
*ALL PETS HAVE TO BE UP-TO-DATE WITH VACCINATIONS, FLEA AND WORM TREATMENTS*
There will be all-time supervision of your pet by myself and sometimes accompanied by my boyfriend, who grew up in a farm and loves animals as well. I will update you with photos and summaries of how the visit/walk/house sitting of your pet is going at all times unless you specifically tell me not to do so.
1. Home Visits: they last from 1-2 h each and there is a walk included (30-40 min), playtime, food and water check and clean-up of any possible messes. I will also give the required medications if needed and perform any basic tasks such as collecting the post or taking the bins out for collection if previously agreed on this matter.
2. Dog walking: I completely follow your normal routine. I usually walk around 40 min – 1.30 h, but this can be shortened if you prefer. I always have toys, poop bags and treats. I won’t unleash the dog unless we have previously agreed on this.
3. House sitting: Your home, your rules. I can supervise both the dog and basic home care needs and make sure the house remains exactly how you leave it. If you give me free choice, I’ll follow a similar pattern as described in the Home Visits section.
4. Day care and boarding in my home: ONLY FOR SMALL ANIMALS. Please contact me if you would like to know more about this service and we can arrange something that works for both me and you! Every small animal species is different and I did not want to generalize in here.
5. Extras:
- Dog nail clipping and dog bathing services. From 5 to 10 euros depending on the size of the dog.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Susie was absolutely fantastic to deal with from the very beginning. She was super professional and confident , she managed to put my mind at ease that our little whippet was going to be ok in her care. She further reinforced her capabilities by updating me with photos/videos which again made me feel Croiadh was very well looked after. Highly recommend to anyone who wants top care for their pet/s!
Susie was absolutely great minding my red setter pup. Lots of videos and pics throughout the day to keep me updated on how he was doing . Really professional and polite and you can really tell she had a genuine care for the animals and wants to give them the best treatment possible. Very knowledgeable on behaviours and training too and gave us some great advice for going forward. Couldn't give her a higher recommendation and her own dog is a gentle giant and great play pal :) 10/10 for sure!
I speak English, Spanish and Catalan, so you can talk to me in the language you feel more comfortable with!
I’ve always used positive reinforcement dog training techniques when taking care of dogs and have an advanced understanding of small mammals, especially with pet rats:
-DOGS:
· I’ve taken care of old dogs and have no issues giving them any required medication.
· I love puppies and I’m happy to teach them commands, leash and house training if you need me to.
· Experienced at walking different dog breeds, small and large alike.
· My boyfriend and I have raised a German Shepherd puppy in the last years – Ragnar! I’ve also owned a Kind Charles female during my childhood – Maika.
- SMALL RODENTS:
· I currently have four pet rats (dumbo and fancy types), but I’ve also cared for three other pet rats in my life.
· I’m experienced with handling them, giving them food, medicines and recognizing any health issues.
· I’ve also successfully bonded pet rats in the past.
· I have no issues giving them a bath or follow any routine that you have with them.
I'm also familiar with taking care of cats (and kittens), fish (proud owner of several fish throughout my life) and some reptiles.
