About Kate
I am a married, 28 year old woman working full time as an actuary. My husband and I just moved to Dublin from Cape Town, South Africa. I grew up surrounded by pet dogs, especially Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Staffordshire bull terriers, and miniature dachshunds. I've been living in apartments since moving out of my mom's house, but while unable to get a dog of my own I've always been able to shower my love on my mom's dogs. Since moving to Dublin, I (half) joke that I miss my mom's dogs more than I miss her.
I'm on this app genuinely just looking to walk, play with, care for, and love some dogs until I can get one of my own. I'm not allowed dogs in my apartment, but I'm happy to house and/or pet sit. If the booking includes a weekday, I will need a space and WiFi to work remotely.
I am currently based in Sandymount and use public transport.
I have experience administering oral medication to a Ridgeback, but no formal training.
I prefer dogs and have more experience with dogs, but I don't mind cats if you also have cats. My experience is mostly informal, including pet sitting for friends and family and now a few months here on Pawshake. In addition to the breeds listed above, I've also had experience with my in-laws' Belgian Malinois.

Kate is a fantastic dog sitter, and all round lovely person. She took excellent care of our three beloved dogs while we were away and we felt so at ease knowing they were in her care. She is extremely competent and wasn't fazed in the slightest by having to walk and feed three large dogs.
It's clear that Kate has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and our dogs immediately took to her which is the most telling of all.
Kate updated us regularly during her stay, and she also had our house super tidy when we got home which was so thoughtful.
Kate is already scheduled for another stay with our dogs in the near future.
For anyone looking for a dog sitter, I would highly recommend Kate.
Kate was really great to deal with a d she was great with our pooch. Lexi was able to stay comfortably at our home and keep her routine. Our flights were at odd hours and Kate was quite accommodating on keeping Lexi company. Will definately book her again on my next trips.
