Not too keen on kennels? I offer a home from home environment in Callan, Co.Kilkenny, for your beloved dog to relax in the comfort of my home.
I live in a detached house 10 minutes outside Kilkenny City with my two Coton de Tulear dogs Lily and Oscar who are aged 10!and 15yrs old! Last year we looked after a neighbours dog, my dogs enjoyed the company, we decided to make it a regular occurrence so here we are!! I work from home (Mon-Fri) so my mornings and evenings are free, I've decided to only offer dog boarding as that's what suits us best. It's nice to offer a home away from home to dog owners who’d like their loved one in a homely environment. Your dog will be in a homely environment, treated as part of our family whilst you're secure in the knowledge that your dog is being taken care of!
We get up about 7/8am, dogs are fed and we then go for a 1hr+ walk around the Castle park. Upon returning home, they get a treat and settle into the office or a cosy spot around the house for the afternoon. The garden doors are open to come and go as they please. Quick evening walk around 6/7pm and generally lights out by 10/11pm.
Guests have full access downstairs and to the living room in the evening to relax beside the fire for a more comforting environment. I find dogs settle in quickly when they initially arrive, Lily and Oscar are very laid back. It makes for a calm and peaceful experience especially if this is their first time away from home.

This was the second time I left Riley with Bridget while we went on holiday. I can't recommend her enough. Riley is made to feel so at home and she is happy going in and leaving. This time we left her for 8 days and Bridget kept me updated with photos which was great to see Riley happy while on holidays. It's easy to see Bridget has a love for dogs and the only place I will feel comfortable leaving Riley.
Bridget put my mind at ease from the minute I seen the love and care she has for her own dogs Lillie and Oscar, this was only added to by the care she extended to Peanut. We received regular updates about how Peanut settled in and the things he got up to during the days, couldn't rate Bridget any higher and wouldn't hesitate to use her to care for our dog again. We will be back.
