I’m a caring, responsible Australian who has had dogs and cats my entire life! I am the eldest of 4 children so I’ve always been responsible for my siblings and the animals. I moved to Carlow from Sydney 7 years ago with my partner, Doug (who works from home) and our Rottweiler who has sadly since passed. We have no children and desperately needed another dog in the house so not long after our Rottweiler passed we adopted an old German Shepherd from Dogs Trust who we just absolutely adored. Not long after he came to our home he hurt his back and he slowly deteriorated over 3 years. We moved our bedroom downstairs to be with him and got him a wheelchair - this seriously extended his time with us!! Recently, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to send him over the rainbow bridge 🌈 💔

I’m really not ready to get another dog of my own but I truly have so much love and care to give, this is a great way for me to express that.

I currently work a couple of days a week as a child minder in a private home (a nanny). The kids I look after are a lot older now and they don’t quite need me as many hours so I’ve taken a big step back, my position is very flexible. In this household I care for 3 dogs, a cat and a pony!

I also volunteer for Kildare Wildlife Rescue as a wildlife carer and first responder. This is a very flexible roll and I can work around my dog sitting.
