Doggies’ Dream in Dun Laoghaire
Dublin
About Ildiko
I think you agree with me: life is empty without our furry friends. They are four-legged angels who brighten people's lives.
Your dog deserves the best care!
I know how hard it is to choose a pet sitter. You have to check every little thing: how will they take care of your pet, are they reliable, will your doggie enjoy this holiday?
🐾 Party time for your pet
While you are travelling, or going on a holiday, you can rest assured, because your pet will be in good hands. This time will be unforgettable: slumber party for your doggie! Fun and treats await him/her in my house!
🐾 The place: I undertake dog boarding, you can bring your dog to my place. I live in a pet-friendly, spacious apartment in Dun Laoghaire with my husband. This tidy town is close to Dublin, the DART station is near our house. There are lovely parks, quiet promenades and a seaside beach in walking distance. We have a terrace, soft rugs, blankets for doggies. You can bring his/her bed if you want.
🐾 My experiences: I am a qualified Animal Health Care Assistant and Dog Groomer, I graduated in Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute in 2024. I also made a Canine First Aid course and a Safe Dog Handling course.
I have more than 30 years experience with dogs. I had several dogs of my own who meant the world to me. I got my first dog when I was 12 years old. Benjamin was a foxterrier, we grew up together. I taught him so many tricks, he was smart and strong. Brutus was my second dog, he was a foxterrier too. He was a beautiful, wire-haired dog, he had very much love in his great, innocent heart. Recently I lost my last doggie, Rocky. He was a yorkshire terrier, a big fighter soul in a tiny, fragile body. He was 15 years old, and he suffered several illnesses. He got medicines, special diet and he had moving difficulties some years ago. I learned how to make his life easier, what can I do for him to be happy and comfortable in his last years.
I also regularly looked after my friends' and parents' dogs. I have experience with a rescued dog who had separation anxiety.
🐾 Dog boarding guide:
- If you choose me, you will fill a detailed questionnaire (Google sheet). It helps me to know your dog's habits in advance. I ask you about important things, such as whether the doggie has food allergies, how often and for how long I should take him/her for walks, how the pet relates to other dogs, whether he/she takes any vitamins or medicines, where your pet likes to sleep and what the favorite toy is.
- I only host house-trained and toilet-trained dogs.
- I welcome male and female dogs too.
- I would like to care for small or medium dogs (under 20 kg).
- The age is not important, I can also take care of very old dogs, or dogs with chronical illnesses, I have experience. Benji was 16 when passed away, and Rocky was 15. In the last year of his life, Brutus struggled with lymphoma and was given a lot of medicines and a special nutritional supplements.
- I take care of one dog at a time. So you can know, I will only care about your dog!
- I’m happy to host dogs as well who don't like children or are more shy than average. A quiet, loving atmosphere awaits them at my place.
- There will always be someone with your dog, because my husband works from home several days a week, and I am away sometimes for just 1-2 hours a day.
