Hello, pet owners! :)

My name is Maria and I'm a 25 year-old veterinary doctor. I'm from Portugal and currently I've been living in Ireland since the start of the year, with my two adopted cats. Back home in Portugal I have a 9 year-old portuguese pointer who I love more than anything.

 I adopted my fur babies here in Ireland, Phoebe is the sweetest girl but has cerebelar hypoplasia and is deaf so, knowing how special needs animals are usually put aside, I knew I had to take her to give her the best life she could have. Her brother, Ollie, is a very shy boy but loves to ask for pets when it's bed time. You can see them all on my profile photos :)

Since I was a little girl, my goal was to help those who couldn't speak for themselves and that's why I wanted to become a veterinarian. To be able to do more for them, I decided to go down the path of behavioural medicine and try to understand them, their behaviours and how they communicate. That's my career goal, to be able to dedicate myself fully to behavioural medicine. I also have a dog training course so if that's something you could use some help with, I will do my very best to help.

I have a lot of experience with animals since it's my day to day job but apart from it I've done pet sitting and dog walking, inclusive in Ireland.

In the meantime, I wanna be able to help whoever is out there that needs a hand taking care of their pets, whether it's with walks or house sitting, because I know how busy life can get and we all just want to do what's best for our pets.
