I'm Sarah. I am 26 and currently studying Veterinary Medicine at University College Dublin! I am in my final year and will be graduating come June!
A little about me... I am originally from Pennsylvania, but I have been living here in Ireland for the last four years. I've grown up around animals of all shapes and sizes and the love of I have for them has driven me to pursue veterinary medicine as a career. Back in the US, I have four loving and lazy cats, a precious golden retriever, and a very handsome quarter horse. They are my life and I miss them dearly when I am here, but I get sent many photos. In November 2021, I said a very tear-filled but happy goodbye to my yellow lab Jager, who for the I had raised from 8 weeks old until two and a half to be a working service dog. He was finally matched with his partner and is now a full-time working service dog (YAY!). Over the years, I have cared for pets ranging from new puppies, older dogs, special needs animals such as those requiring daily medication or with conditions such as diabetes or epilepsy, to cats, cows, sheep, horses, and even a few donkeys. I pride myself on my good communication with owners and my calm but confident presence around your pet allowing me to provide the best care and attention and ease any uncertainty on both your and your pet's side. Being away from home, I dearly miss my fur-babies and I am excited to be able to help others by ensuring that yours are well taken care of!
If caring for your pet I am able to adminsiter medications, follow required diets, ensure adequate exercise and also work on training. Dog walks can range in duration depending on the activity level of your pet, I just ask that you inform me of what their routine is! During home visits or check in's I will spend time with your pet to make sure that they are eating and drinking and feeling looked after and not alone with a minimum of 20 minutes at each home visit. If you would like me to come and stay at your house I will be able to bring in mail, ensure garbage is taken out and the house is kept in an orderly fashion and can attend to plants if requested. Great care will be taken when looking after your home and you will come home to a house in the same condition you left it in.
As a full time final year clinical student I am available in the afternoons and evenings during the weekdays and am available all day on weekends and can work around you and your pets schedules! I look forward to being able to care for your four-legged family member like they are one of my own!
