About Richie
Hi my name is Richie and I'm a non-drinking, non-smoking teacher from Ireland. I've been blessed enough to have a variety of pets in my life from a very early age and I loved all of them dearly - from hamsters to cats to dogs! I have been looking after animals of all kinds, however - including ducks, goats, sheep and chickens - for over 6 years now on this platform as well as various other similar platforms, both on a short-stay and long-term basis.
I've been blessed to have had a recurring host on this platform who has two beautiful chocolate labradors and a cheeky cat full of character called Charlie. The twin labs became super familiar with me instantly and I with them along with their sleeping, feeding, exercise and medication routines. It was my attention to detail and bond with the girls and their feline brother that had me asked back on several occasions throughout last year.
My last house sit before joining this platform in 2021 was for 3 weeks with an 8-month old husky, a 9-year-old German shepherd, and their feline friend, Echo. They were all so adorable and affecionate and the perfect reminder of why I love doing this so much!
Before that I was in the south of Spain for 4 whole months looking after three dogs, two cats, 3 ducks and 12 chickens! This was the most remote house sit I've ever done and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've looked after pets in all kinds of settings, both rural and urban. I work remotely so I am flexible and I drive, so I can be available at the last minute.
I'm available any time to discuss all of your pets needs by phone or Zoom or by whatever means suits best. be assured that my priority is always the comfort and welfare of the animals in their owners' absense and I go out of my way to treat them as my own. I am someone who pays real attention to details, so any particulars around sleep patterns, diets, eating times, methods, toys, dos and dont's, medication etc. will be handled with the utmost of care.

This was the second time we have had Richie pet sit in our home and we couldn't be happier - we have 2 dogs and 2 cats of various ages and health needs and Richie manages them all brilliantly. We have already rebooked :)
Richie is amazing! He took care of our four pets for a week in September, staying in our house - not an easy task as they all bring their own needs and personalities to the table but Richie handled them all like a champion. We came home to four very happy pets and also a very tidy house - Richie even stripped his bed and put it in the wash before he left! We have already booked his services again for October - it is always so reassuring when you know you are leaving your pets in such excellent care.
