I am a firm believer that dogs make our lives exponentially better, they brighten every day and as such deserve to be given all that love and care right back.

I cannot remember a time when I did not love animals, particularly dogs and have had family dogs my whole life, always rescues as my father, like me believed in giving dogs who had a tough start in life a chance for love and safety.

As such I have experience with dogs who have had a difficult time and require more patience, time and attention to adjust to a new environment.

My dad worked at a dog rescue in Galway where I volunteered when I could, and I also supported the GSPCA on a number of occasions.

I have often taken care of family and friends’ pets and have had not only had dogs as pets my whole life but rabbits as well and have experience administering medication to both dogs and rabbits.

Your much-loved dog will stay with us in our large 2 bed apartment with a large balcony that runs across 3 rooms. This outside balcony space is secure and allows pets to play outside and watch the world go by throughout the day. There are only 2 humans in the apartment, myself and my partner Victor who will also be available to ensure your pet will always have someone to attend to their needs. Victor also has experience administering medication to rabbits and dogs and he is chief groomer to our pup and enjoys brushing Pablito and trimming his nails.

We live with our sweet and social 2-year-old collie/terrier cross Pablito. Pablito is a rescue from Wicklow Animal Welfare. He is a sweet social pup, who happily shares with others and loves to play and make new friends. Pablito sleeps in our living room and your pet would have their own spot on the couch or area for their bed to make sure they feel right at home. We also have a spare room if your pup needs a little time to themselves or relaxed solo time with one of us. We will work with your specific dog’s needs.

We both work from home 4 days a week and one of us is always home as our office days are different. No pet will be left more than 2 hours and if your pet cannot be left and requires further supervision, we will work with you to cater to their needs and ensure one of us is home at all times.

We walk our dog Pablito for 90-120 mins a day over 2-3 walks. If weather is too bad we play extra games or enrichment inside to meet his needs. As there will be 2 of us available, we will work with your preferred schedule and duration required to keep your dog happy with as little disruption as possible to their current schedule. We are happy to provide up to 2 hours of walking a day if needed.

We have several nice green areas near our home such as Clonmore Park and Naomh Olaf GAA pitch and park. Both areas are lovely for dog walks, and Naomh Olaf allows for more contained off leash time at off peak times. These are both less than 15 mins walk from our apartment. There is also a small green area in the courtyard of our apartments that is secure. It is suitable for more contained play with a ball or toys.

We will only take one dog at a time overnight to guarantee that your pet gets all the time and attention they need. This is for their benefit and the benefit of our own dog. For daycare there will be a maximum of 3 pets including our own dog.

Both Victor and I have taken part in training with Pablito at Positive Dog training and took what we learned and built on it, along with taking part in some online games-based training courses, so we would be happy to work on some basic fun training with your dog. If you are working on specific skills or tricks, let us know and we will continue with your training.

A meet can be arranged in advance to make sure your pup feels safe and happy with our little family.

As we work from home we can be flexible most days and work with your dog’s meal and walk schedule.

Dogs must have up to date vaccinations including kennel cough.

Pablito is neutered so we can take unneutered females.
