Hello! My name is Alice, I am 26 years old. I was born in Dublin and lived in the countryside of Wicklow for my whole life.
I am extremely passionate about animals and have had dogs and cats for my whole life! I studied for BA in Psychology in UCD and then went travelling, became qualified as a yoga teacher and began working as an English language teacher in places such as Thailand and Indonesia.
I have returned to Ireland to complete my Masters education in Global Mental Health. I have taken a step back from teaching full time in order to pursue my Masters.
I also have a diploma in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the
The University of Edinburgh.
I love animals, especially dogs and thoroughly enjoy meeting new ones. I becamse very accustomed to understanding the needs and attitudes of new dogs whilst volunteering with the multiple animals welfarre agencies, particularly, in south-east Asia and through previous pet sitting roles. In Thailand in particular I have fostered multiple stray dogs until they have found a new permanent home, I have also fostered puppies waiting for adoption through the DSPCA.
I am kind, caring and extremely organised. I can drive and am happy to drive to your home to care for your pet. I also live in a house with a very large enclosed a garden, close to many Wicklow mountain walking trails. My walks are usually an hour and a half to two hours however can be catered to any length to fit your dogs needs.
My home is a large house, with a 1.5 acre garden with plenty of area to run around. I work from home so will be with the dogs all day so they will be able to wander around the house and garden as they please. The house and garden are fenced in and the gate is fully secured. The house is surrounded my fields. The fields are primarily for horses so are often empty, there are always plenty to walk around, we can also walk to the top of the mountain the house is on, this is my normal morning dog walk (takes around 1.5 - 2hours) and then in the afternoon it will usually be a slightly shorter walk around around the fields (1-1.5 hours).
I am also located extremely close to many Wicklow Way walks which I often frequent, these can be requested. Again these walks can be changed depending on each dogs needs.
When boarding your dog will either have its own room to sleep - a cosy kitchen with a warm AGA and bed or if preferred can board in their own bed with my two friendly dogs, in another room of the house. If your dog prefers to sleep with a human they are also welcome to have a bed in my room. They will have their own bed and food bowls. I have a car and will be very happy to visit your home, this could be multiple visits or a home stay. I have done a lot of house sitting previously so am very accustomed to looking after people's houses and have had success in this area but I miss the dogs :(. I really hope I can help you and look after your dog, I am extremely friendly and reliable and dogs make me so happy.
I would really appreciate the opportunity. If you have any questions please let me know. Hope to you see you soon :)
Alice is a perfect dog minder and walker. She is considerate and kind, friendly, professional and punctual.
My dog loves her, greets her excitedly, and really enjoys walks with her.
I'm extremely pleased with Alice and knowing my dog is safe and having a great time.
Second time working with Alice and still no disappointments, she is so intuitive with my dog and just of lovely general character, on time and smiling. Couldn't recommend her more, and look forward to seeing her again.
I have a diploma in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from The University of Edinburgh.
