Hi! My name is Maddie and I am from Florida, USA! I am currently studying for my undergraduate at Trinity here in Dublin. I have a fourteen (almost 15) year-old cockapoo back in Florida named Bandit!! I have had him since he was a puppy and miss him dearly. I use to go on long walks with him daily and have been missing them and being around animals in general so I thought I would give this a try. I have looked after pets (dogs and cats) for my neighbors and local community for years in addition to working with specific families and their pets. The main family I worked for in Florida contacted me originally to babysit their children but once they got a purebred pitbull puppy and their children were old enough for school I became a full-time dog sitter. I watched Nilla (the pitbull) grow up and helped reinforce her training with various exercises. When she was younger and very energetic I would play with her for hours until she was tuckered out. However, now that she is an old lady we spend most of our time watching movies together on the couch :). While I do not currently have a cat I do have experience with them. Over the summer I house-sat for a family going on a ten-day vacation. They asked me to not only take care of the house but their elderly Visla and three rescue cats (one of whom is disabled). The special needs cat was "slow" as they described him and needed to be directed toward his food and litterbox. Another one of the cats was severely allergic to the other cats' food and had to be removed during feeding time, in addition to having a different kibble. My motivation for being a pet sitter, at least here in Ireland, is just to be around animals because they help me with homesickness. I spend most of my afternoons exploring the city (city center) and reading in various parks and thought it would be fun to do those things with some furry friends! Since I live in student accommodation I cannot allow pets into my home, but I am open to house sitting and have experience in that as well.
