Richie

Hi my name is Richie and I'm from Athlone. I've been blessed enough to have a variety of pets in my life from a very early age and I loved all of them dearly - from hamsters to cats to dogs! I have been looking after animals of all kinds, however - including ducks, goats, sheep and chickens - for over 4 years now on various other similar platforms to this one, both on a short-stay and long-term basis. 

My last house sit was for 3 weeks with an 8-month old husky, a 9-year-old German shepherd, and their feline friend, Echo. They were all so adorable and affecionate and the perfect reminder of why I love doing this so much!

Before that I was in the south of Spain for 4 whole months looking after three dogs, two cats, 3 ducks and 12 chickens! This was the most remote house sit I've ever done and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've looked after pets in all kinds of settings, both rural and urban.

I work remotely so I am flexible and I drive, so I can be available at the last minute. I'm ready now to open up to this type of animal care for shorter stays/drop ins, as I get very attached during longer stays and it's so difficult to say goodbye to the amazing pets I've had the privilege of taking care of and building such beautiful bonds with.

I'm available any time to discuss all of your pets needs by phone or Zoom or by whatever means suits best. be assured that my priority is always the comfort and welfare of the animals in their owners' absense and I go out of my way to treat them as my own. I am someone who pays real attention to details, so any particulars around sleep patterns, diets, eating times, methods, toys, dos and dont's, medication etc. will be handled with the utmost of care.
