Hi! My name is Sara — I’m originally from Brazil and have been living in Dublin for two years and a half. I absolutely love animals, and caring for them truly brings me joy.

Back home, my family has two dogs (Maya and Milu), whom I miss dearly. My boyfriend also has a cat (Mavi), who I consider part of my family too. Whenever I’ve looked after them, I’ve treated them as if they were my own. I also had two other dogs growing up, Fredy and Pinguim, who are now little angels in animal heaven. I’ve been caring for pets since I was a kid.

I have a special love for both dogs and cats. I understand that they often need time to feel comfortable with new people, so when I meet a new furry friend, I always let them come to me at their own pace. I never force cuddles or attention — I let them lead. When they’re ready, they come closer… and that’s how we become friends. 💕

Since moving to Ireland, I worked as a carer for older people for two years in the Stoneybatter area, which is why I am Garda vetted, adding an extra layer of trust and safety. I live in Phibsborough and I have an electric bike, which allows me to get around quickly and easily.

I’ve been a vegetarian since 2021, and one of the main reasons is my love for animals and their cause.

Unfortunately, I can’t have pets where I live because I share a house. But I’ve already taken care of a few cats (Francisco and Bonny) for friends here in Dublin — and I absolutely loved every moment with them.

For several years, I was actively involved in helping animal rescue NGOs — from assisting with fundraising to organizing raffles to raise money for their work.

I also personally rescued two dogs from the streets. One of them was Jade, whom I took in, brought to the vet, and cared for until she was healthy and ready to be adopted by a loving family.

The other rescue was Maya (who is now part of my family’s home) and her sister Bolinha.

I’ve also helped find homes for stray kittens that were rescued from the streets. Making sure they were safe, healthy, and matched with loving families was a truly rewarding experience.
