I’m Lisa, a Zoology grad with a lifelong love of animals (everyone writes that in their bio, right?!).
My personal pet experience of 20 years includes looking after dogs, cats, horses and small rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits), both caring for my own and minding pets for friends and family. I had a beautiful cat called Meowth for nearly 16 years but at the moment only have one pet. Rooh is a 10 year old Boxer x Dalmatian mutt with a puppyish personality and heart of gold - she’s the black Labrador lookalike in my pics!
I‘m studying for my postgrad degree at Trinity at the moment, so Pawshake suits me perfectly because it lets me be as flexible as I need to be to work around my very busy college schedule. Plus it means I get to meet more new four legged friends, and that’s always a good thing :)
My weekly schedule can vary quite a lot, but do please message me to discuss, I'm sure we can work something out!
I’m available for dog walking as well as house visits for all kinds of pets. My experience and ability give me the confidence to provide an exceptional level of care in all situations. I'm happy to look after all of your pet’s needs, including giving meds or exercising ‘exuberant‘ pups -just let me know what their routine is. Basic dog obedience training can also be discussed.
Dog walks can range from a 15 minute amble down the road and back for older pets to an hour long session for those with more energy.
Home visits are 30 minutes long and include checking on your pet, cleaning, feeding and letting out into the garden, as needed.
Lisa walked our puppy Lola and arranged some puppy play dates with her own dog Rooh. She sent us updates and pictures after every walk. We were delighted with the service provided by Lisa - she is a natural with animals and is very friendly and responsive.
Lisa looked after our 2 cats while we were away for a few days. Everything was great, the cats were happy and well taken care of and it was very easy to communicate with Lisa.
Although not directly related to pet care, my education focus has always been on animals. I have an undergrad Hons. degree in Zoology and am studying for my MSc. in Biodiversity and Conservation at the moment.
As a former animal shelter staff member in beautiful West Cork, I have 5 years professional experience with cats and dogs of all breeds, age, size, energy requirements and temperments.
I’m currently training with the IMDT to become a canine behaviourist and have used positive, force free methods in all my dog training for the past 10 years. I’m more than happy to teach your dog basic obedience if requested and will also show you how to do so (please note that there will be an additional cost for this).
I’m a qualified Canine First Responder so if first-aid issues arise they won’t be a problem. I’ve also been Garda vet-checked in the past and this can be supplied on request.
